Gulab Jamuns

GULAB JAMUNS

Gulab jamuns are spongy indian sweet milk balls deeped in sugar syrup. Many people use theirs with mawa(khoya) but it is not readily available so i use mine with milk powder instead and the turn out soo well. When you use milk powder its  much easier and requires no experience since the dough is flexible and easily manageable unlike mawa its a bit challenging if you have no exprience with it the jamuns might not turn out well.As for me i have wroked with both mawa and milk powder but mawa its a 50-50 chance for i guess i dont know how to handle it well so as far till now i just go with milk powder and they are the best for me. To cut things short u can try with both and lemme know how your turned out. Lets get to the point haha i cant stop talking😆😆

Ingredients:

1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
pinch of baking soda
1/4 tsp cardamon powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
Oil for fryin
2 cups sugar
2 cups water

Directions:

Mix milk powder ,flour and pinch of baking soda.
Add cardamon powder and add the cream a little beat at a time.
The mixture will be sticky its okayy.
Let the dough set for 10-15mins.
So that the cream dissolves into the milk powder.
After 10 min the dought will be soft and easy to handle
Make balls and fry them into a deep fryer over medium heat.
Make sure the oil is not too hot because as you put the jamuns they will turn brown immediately and they will not cook inside.
The oil should be not too hot not too cold when you dumping them.
Stir the jamuns so that they do not stick to the fryer.
Once brown remove them and let them drain the excess oil.
Let them cool

For the syrup:

In  a saucepan put the sugar and water and let it boil about 5 minutes
The syrup should not be too running .
And also do not over boil the sugar will stiffen up as it cools down.

Soooo after 5 minutes when the syrup is warm and the jamuns have cooled down dump them to the syrup .
Do not put the jamuns if the syrup is hot and the jamuns are hot aswell. It will be a disaster.

DO NOT!😅😅 I HAVE BEEN THERE.

So its either the jamuns are warm and the syrup is cold orrrrrr the syrup is warm and the jamun are cooled.

And you will be done!!Taddaaaaa
