Masalah Chips


MASALAH CHIPS

Masalah chips are one of my favourite dish at all time..I prefer masalah chips than any other kind of chips.Its so spicy and yummyy. Most of my family members prefer this aswell. But it depends if you are the type of person who cannot stand spicy stuff then this is not for you.This fries normally work with people in Kenya. This dish is best served with bbqs.

Ingredients:

1kg potatoes
2 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp vinegar
Chilli powder per your taste if you like it hot
1 tsp spanish paparika powder
1 tsp garam masalah
4 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp tomato pure
salt per your taste
1 lemon
1 tsp tamarind paste
Oil for frying

Directions:

Peel potatoes into chips and deep fry to the oil until cooked
Drain excess oil.
Make your masalah sauce
In a pan melt your margarine and oil and add garlic paste
Add vinegar and the rest of the spices paparika,chilli powder,garam masalah, and salt.
And then add tomato paste and tomato pure let it cook for about 2 minutes on low heat.
Add the lemon and tamarind.
After draining the excess oil from the chips add them to the masalah sauce and mix.
On low heat keep tossing the chips so that they all get coated with the masalah sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
